Welcome to Old Kings Elementary School, home of the proud owls, where we “Always Fly Right And Give a Hoot”.

Congratulations to OKES for receiving an “A” grade for the 2010-11 school year. We are proud of our students, staff and volunteers for working diligently to receive an “A” .

At Old Kings Elementary School we join together with our parents, students, staff and community to promote high expectations and academic excellence through a respectful, responsible and safe environment. Our first goal this year is to meet AYP by a minimum of 86% of our students scoring at or above grade level in reading and math. The second goal is to communicate more effectively with parents, students, staff and community as evidenced by a beginning and end of the year survey completed by students, staff and parents.
Our third goal is through the consistent use of Positive Behavior we will establish a climate where appropriate behavior is the norm as evidenced by at least 10% reduction of student referrals for the 2011-2012 school year.

When parents, community, teachers and administrators work together we provide wonderful learning experiences for our students.

Welcome to Old Kings Elementary School, home of the proud owls. At Old Kings Elementary School, we aspire to create with family and community support, a secure environment where children are authentically engaged in standard based work.  In order to do this, clear expectations and communication between school and home are essential.

With our new website, we are striving to communicate better with parents and students. Please be patient as we all learn this wonderful tool of communication.  In the meantime, watch for parent information which we send home on purple paper so you can easily distinguish it from your child's other work. We look forward to having a successful year with you as our partner in your child's education.

Please feel free to call or come in with questions, concerns or suggestions. Together we are better.

Principal’s Message

The District office has placed many changes in the schools following FCAT testing. This is due to the planning stages set in place for the 2010-2011 school year and the departure of Mr. Delbrugge and appointment of our new Superintendent, Ms. Janet Valentine.

Ms. Denise Haymes, Principal at OKES, will be transferring to the District office after spring break as Instructional Director. As a result, I will be transferring to OKES as Principal and Mr. Jacob Oliva will be Principal at FPCHS. This will allow an easy transition and continuity for students and staff. I am confident that Mr. Oliva’s leadership will guide FPC through many successful years.

It has been my pleasure to work with the students, families and staff of FPCHS.

I continue to wish you and your families the very best.

Sincerely,

Nancy Willis

Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year. FPC is Florida’s proudest campus. We have an excellent staff who are here to meet the needs of their students. It is important for teachers, students, parents and administrators to work together to provide a positive learning environment. Currently, we have 206 teachers and 2379 students.

This year we have implemented small learning communities for our ninth graders. The majority of ninth graders are housed in the same location. The core teachers have planning together so that they can share curriculum and ideas. Small learning communities build better relationships between students and teachers.

We offer Advanced Placement courses and International Baccalaureate courses. We have many electives for students such as art, band, chorus, acting, stagecraft, web design, photography and graphic design.

Our CTE classes offer business, culinary, auto mechanics, construction, drafting, TV production and agri-science.

We have a School Advisory Council which is comprised of students, parents, teachers and community members. The School Advisory Council will work together to make Flagler Palm Coast High an outstanding school. We invite you to join the School Advisory Council. The first meeting is August 31, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in the Media Center.

We are looking forward to a productive school year.
