Nurse's Office

Hi, my name is Elaine Rawls and I am the nurse here at OKES.  I bring to this job many years of experience in Pediatrics, first as a nurse in the Pediatric ICU at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL and then as a nurse in a Pediatric After Hours Clinic.  Most recently I was an Admissions RN for Hospice down in Port Charlotte, FL.  I graduated from nursing school at the University of Florida and also received a Master of Business and a Master of Health Science.

I want parents of children here at OKES, to know that I will try to treat and care for their children as if they were one of my own.  My husband and I have 3 children here at OKES and one at ITMS.

There are many children attending school these days with many complex medical issues.  I am here so that they may safely attend school and their parents can rest as ease knowing that I am here should any complications arise.  Of course, I also take care of the unexpected falls, scrapes, insect bites, and illness that occur in an elementary school of this size.  

Please remember to keep your children home for any fevers, unexplained rashes, or diarrhea.  If you have any questions regarding if you child should or should not be sent to school, please feel free to give me a call.
